Dal Khalsa’s youth wing Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP) will be holding a demonstration in Jalandhar on November 3 to mark the 28th anniversary of 1984 anti-Sikh massacre in Delhi and elsewhere. In a statement released to the media here today, Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwarpal Singh and SYP head Ranbir Singh said the objective of the protest rally was to express community’s pain and anguish against the massacre and concern over the denial of justice to victims besides performing Ardas in memory of those who had been killed in a systematic and planned manner.
Elaborating about the progarmme, they said the peaceful sit-in led by party head H S Dhami would be organized at Guru Nanak Mission chowk for two hours. However, they clarified that traffic would not be disturbed.  They said leaders of other Panthic groups would also participate.
They said that Sikh Diaspora has cried hoarse, year after year, for the last 28years, that such gross injustice should shame the rulers of the country, but to no avail.
Taking a dig at nine investigative commissions set up by various Union Governments to identify the perpetrators and look into the genesis of the 1984 genocide, they said all ended up as a damp squib.
It’s ironic that all attempts to get justice within the legal framework of the Indian system for the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh carnage have failed, they rued. Kanwar Pal Singh said theirs group would be sending memo to United Nations and 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council to seek their intervention
