Expressing deep anguish about the behavior of Panthic forces towards him Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, a convict in the former chief minister Beant Singh assassination case, whose death warrants are to be executed on 31st of March, today refused to meet leaders of Sant Samaj who went to Central Jail, Patiala to meet him.
The religious leaders under the leadership of Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, chief of Damdami Taksal and president of Gurmat Sidhant Parcharak Sant Samaj and former Jathedar of Akal Takht Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode, today went to Central Jail, Patiala in the afternoon but the Jail authorities said that a meeting cannot be arranged all of a sudden. As the religious leaders persisted the Jail authorities told them to come at 4 pm so that a meeting can be properly arranged.
The religious leaders who had attended the swearing in ceremony of Punjab Cabinet at Chappar Chiri had in fact moved to Patiala after the ceremony was over. At 4 pm the Jail authorities told the religious leaders that only five of them will be able to meet Bhai Rajoana and they were allowed in but after some time were told that Bhai Rajoana had refused to meet them.
Sources said that Bhai Rajoana when conveyed that religious leaders had come to meet him gave a written note to the Jail authorities that he does not wish to meet them. He reportedly said that he has been behind the bars for the last 17 years but no one ever came to meet or support him and the religious leaders after learning about his death warrant and scheduled execution have come to take mileage out of the issue. He was only supported by his family.
Bhai Rajoana was reportedly unhappy as the religious leaders who had blessed him with ‘Amrit’ by baptizing him on June, 12, 2011 had not cared to meet him thereafter. Bhai Rajoana had himself asked the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to baptize him and the above religious leaders had accompanied him for baptizing Rajoana in Patiala Jail. Sources told that even Akali leader Karnail Singh Panjoli was refused meeting with Bhai Rajoana as Rajoana didn’t wish to meet anybody.
Rajoana reported told Jail Authories that he will only have meeting with his sister Kamaldeep Kaur, brother Kulwant Singh Rajoana and Akal Takht Jathedar as he is dedicated to and believes in the supremacy of Akal Takht.
Meanwhile Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode told Yes Punjab that they are going to meet Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in the evening on the issue of Bhai Rajoana. It has come to notice that Sant Samaj is planning to hold an Ardaas Divas to pray for the well being of Bhai Rajoana.
