Linking the arrest Sikh leaders with so-called revival of terrorism in Punjab-Dal Khalsa calls DGP’s claims as bluff

Hoshiarpur, Punjab (December 29, 2012): Contesting the claims made by Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini linking the arrest of Daljit Singh with so-called revival of terrorism in Punjab, the Dal Khalsa called it bluff and untrue.

Party head H S Dhami said the detention of Daljit Singh time and again was clearly on the ground that state’s political as well as police leadership has grudges against the former militant because of his past (militant) actions. “Those who are at helm of affairs at political as well as police level be it in state or centre, doesn’t want to see former militants joining and giving politics a try to further their cause”.

He condemned the police force for humiliating and inflicting torture on Daljit and his colleague SGPC member Kulbir Singh Barapind during investigation. He asked the DGP to be sensitive and fair and stop witch-hunting. He said the DGP was raising the bogey of terrorism only to “cover-up” the failures of his department in maintaining the rule of law in the state.

Detesting another claim by the DGP that marches organized by radical groups in the month of March-April were aimed at disturbing peace of the state, he said cutting across party lines, youth hit the streets to save Balwant Singh Rajoana from gallows at the call of Jathedar, Akal Takht and Panthic groups.

He said the DGP has reiterated that during militancy period 1784 cops had lost their lives, which was very unfortunate because many were targeted just because they were wearing uniform. However, Dhami wondered why the DGP had not revealed how many citizens- that include sympathizers of movement, relatives of militants, human rights activists, lawyers, and ordinary men and women unconnected with the movement lost their lives in the hands of Punjab cops during those 10 years. The DGP must also tell the numbers of slain militants that were killed by security forces in real and stage managed encounters.

“All members of my group join me in mourning the demise of 23 year old woman, who was gang-raped in Delhi”, said Dal Khalsa leader. He demanded that culprits should be handed exemplary punishment so that no one could dare to think of doing such ghastly and barbaric act against woman in future.

“We are also deeply moved by another shameful incident of rape of Patiala girl, who committed suicide because of inaction of the local police against the rapists and express our grief and condolences to her family members”.

ਚੰਡੀਗੜ, 29 ਦਸੰਬਰ (ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਮਹਿਕ ) : ਦਲ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਡੀ. ਜੀ. ਪੀ. ਸੁਮੇਧ ਸੈਣੀ ‘ਖਾੜਕੂਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਹਊਆ‘ ਕੇਵਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵ¤ਲੋਂ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿ¤ਚ ‘ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ‘ ਬਹਾਲ ਨਾ ਰ¤ਖਣ ਸਕਣ ਦੀ ਅਸਫਲਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਨੇ ਡੀ. ਜੀ. ਪੀ. ਵ¤ਲੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਸਬੰਧ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਖਾੜਕੂਵਾਦ ਦੀ ਪੁਨਰ-ਸੁਰਜੀਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨ ਨੂੰ ‘ਕੋਰਾ ਝੂਠ‘ ਦਸਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਰਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ. ਹਰਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਮੁੜ-ਮੁੜ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿ¤ਧੀ ਤੇ ਸਪ¤ਸ਼ਟ ਵਜਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਇਸ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਫਰਤ ਭਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਸ¤ਤਾਧਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਖਾੜਕੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਨੂੰ ਅ¤ਗੇ ਤੋਰਨ ਲਈ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਆਉਣਾ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੜਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਉਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਤਸ਼¤ਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਖਤ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਡੀ. ਜੀ. ਪੀ. ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੁਖਧਾਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਵ¤ਖਰੇ-ਵਿਚਾਰ ਰ¤ਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਜ਼ਾਇਜ ਧ¤ਕਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ।
ਦਲ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਨੇ ਡੀ. ਜੀ. ਪੀ. ਵ¤ਲੋਂ ਮਾਰਚ-ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਗਰਮ ਖਿਆਲੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਵ¤ਲੋਂ ਕ¤ਢੇ ਗਏ ‘ਮਾਰਚਾਂ‘ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਅਮਨ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਲਈ ਖਤਰਾ ਦ¤ਸਣ ਨੂੰ ਝੁਠਲਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਪ¤ਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ ਉ¤ਠ ਕੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਸਿ¤ਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਭਾਈ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜੋਆਣਾ ਦੀ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਵਿਰੁ¤ਧ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਆਏ ਸਨ।
ਡੀ. ਜੀ. ਪੀ. ਦਾ ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਕਿ ਖਾੜਕੂਵਾਦ ਦੌਰਾਨ 1784 ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਵਰਦੀਧਾਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦੀ ਭੇਂਟ ਚੜੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਫਸੋਸ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਡੀ. ਜੀ. ਪੀ. ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦ¤ਸਣ ਕਿ ਖਾੜਕੂਵਾਦ ਦੇ 10 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁ¤ਟਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਹਿਤੈਸ਼ੀ, ਖਾੜਕੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ, ਵਕੀਲ, ਮਨੁ¤ਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਕੁੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅ¤ਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਡੀ. ਜੀ. ਪੀ. ਉਹਨਾਂ ਖਾੜਕੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੀ ਦਸ¤ਣ ਜੋ ਸ¤ਚੇ-ਝੂਠੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
ਪਾਰਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਦਿ¤ਲੀ ਗੈਂਗ-ਰੇਪ ਪੀੜਤ 23 ਸਾਲਾ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਉਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਦਾ ਇਜ਼ਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸਖਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਾਲੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਭਵਿ¤ਖ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਘਟੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਿੰਦਗੀ ਭਰੀ ਹਰਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ੁਰਅਤ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਜ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੀ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰ ਪੀੜਤ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੇ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਉਤੇ ਵੀ ਦੁਖ ਦਾ ਇਜ਼ਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਲਈ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਫਸਰ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਥਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿ¤ਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਜ਼ਲਾਲਤ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਣ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਮੁਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਫੌਰੀ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

 First of all I pray before Almighty God; may the Khalsa Panth forever remain steadfast and in high spirit.
Khalsa Ji in relation to the remembrance gatherings for the martyrdom of the younger sahibzade, ‘Sri Akal Takht Sahib’ issued an edict (aadesh) that on 27 December at 10:15 am, Every gursikh should recite the Mool Mantar and Guru Mantar 5 times.

Khalsa Ji I humbly request the entire Khalsa Panth to unite and to comply with the edict issued from ‘Sri Akal Takht Sahib’. I humbly request that in complying with the edict issued from ‘Sri Akal Takht Sahib’ the entire Khalsa Panth should offer their respects to the younger sahibzade in such manner that it should become an event in history to be proud of. At this time, every gursikh, regardless of where they reside, should take time out of their normal routines and unite only in the rememberance of the younger sahibzade. All cars, buses, trucks, all means of transport operated by Sikhs of the 10th master Guru Gobind Singh Ji should be parked by road sides on 27 December at 10:15am.
