Dal Khalsa alongside Sikh Youth of Panjab held a protest organized to demonstrate against the article 25 b 2 that dubs Sikhs as
Hindus, upcoming film titled 'Messenger of God' starring head of
heretical cult Ram Rahim, Hindutva govt's indifferent attitude towards Sikh prisoners drawing attention to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Ji's campaign and
rampant drug abuse. To create awareness amongst masses on these issues
young activists marched on the streets carrying banners and placards.
Waving black flags, they put up big hoardings and distributed pamphlets
to passer-by to convey their message,in regards to the above.
Dal Khalsa & Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP) held a peaceful sit-in and march on
Jan 1 at Amritsar to demonstrate against Article 25 b 2 of the Indian
Constitution that dubs Sikhs as Hindus, government's failure to curb
drug abuse, release of upcoming film of controversial head of heretical
cult Ram Rahim, and the Hindutva government's indifferent and biased attitude towards Sikh
political prisoners who have been kept under detention unjustly.
On the first day of new- year, the youth activists associated with SYP
and supported by SYFB marched from Bhandari bridge upto Darbar Sahib
with placards and banners to create awareness amongst masses and spread
the message. An Ardas in memory of ex-Jathedar of Akal Takht Bhai
Gurdev Singh Kaonke was performed at Darbar Sahib on his 21st
martyrdom day. Jathedar Kaonke was abducted and subsequently eliminated
by Jagroan police in a staged encounter in 1993.
The aim is to press the concerned authorities to release the detainees who had completed their jail term, to constitute judicial commission to probe political-smuggler-police nexus patronizing drug racket, ban the upcoming film of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and to correct the constitutional injustice by amending the article 25.
