Dal Khalsa condemns the attempts by Indian Intelligence and their agents to cause a divide between Sikhs and Muslims in Kashmir.Recently threats to Sikhs have appeared in the form of letters to leave Kashmir convert to Islam or be killed.
This is a divide and rule tactic as both Muslims and Sikhs from Panjab and Kashmir marked 15th August as a black day,as India is still committing genocide on both Panjab and Kashmir.

Amritsar, Aug 21: Referring to the issuing of unclaimed threatening letters to Kashmir valley Sikhs, the Dal Khalsa termed the move to pit Sikhs against Muslims and alleges to be the handiwork of state sponsored actors.
The Punjab based Sikh political party ‘Dal Khalsa’ spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh today spoke with All Parties Hurriyat (Freedom) Conference leader Syed Ali Geelani on phone and expressed his community’s concern on the issue of threat perception emerged in the wake of so-called fake letters.
Kanwarpal Singh claimed that Geelani Sahib has sent a written assurance saying Sikhs should not feel threatened and to remain cautious against “the evil designs of some vested interests who were trying to harm on-going struggle by giving it different colors”.
“I had talked with Geelani Sahib and inquired about his health as he was not keeping well. I apprised him of the fear psychosis prevailing within the J&K Sikhs after some mischievous elements have pasted threatening letters asking the Sikhs either to embrace Islam and join protests or leave the valley”. Dal Khalsa leader urged the Kashmiri leadership to find out those hidden elements that were playing the larger game of the (Indian) state to defame their struggle.
He (Geelani Sahib) has re-assured the Sikhs that nobody would force them to leave the valley or join protests, claims Kanwar Pal Singh, who also had a telephonic conversation with Srinagar based All J&K Sikh Co-ordination Committee leader Jagmohan Singh Raina.

Kanwar Pal said under a deep rooted conspiracy certain vested interests were hell bent to pit Sikhs against Muslims. Ironically, the Indian mainstream media was helping them in fulfilling their design, blamed Dal Khalsa statement.
Welcoming the statements of Umar Farooq Mirwaiz and Geelani Sahib pledging for full protection to minorities, Dal Khalsa leader said nobody can deny the fact that Muslims being the majority community in the valley must protect the minorities in all circumstances.
Dal Khalsa urged J&K Sikhs to maintain cordial relations with Kashmiri Muslims and Hindu Pandits. “Sikhs should also lend helping hand to their Kashmiri brethren in their hour of crisis”.

Srinagar, Aug 21: The Sikhs bodies have reposed faith in majority community in Kashmir and urged Kashmiri leadership to expose the hidden elements.
"What was the need to send these letters? If any organization has done this, they would have done it using their letterhead. We can say that this must be done by a central government or state government-paid organization," said Indumeet Singh, the Chairman of the United Sikh Front Kashmir.
He said, “"We don't have any problem here, we are living here for the past 20 years in the midst of so much of militancy, and we never faced any such problems”.
The Sikhs living in Valley said they are completely safe in the Valley. "If we have any problem, the Muslim brothers always came and helped us. This is a kind of propaganda by one of the organizations, which are working here. We are a kind of a scapegoat for them. They want to gain something out of it," said Rajender Singh.
Meanwhile, Amritsar based Sikh students Federation (SSF) has said that the recent “unnecessary harassment of the microscopic Sikh community by certain anti-Kashmiri elements has shaken the Sikhs.
“We hope the majority community in Kashmir and genuine leadership of Kashmiri resistance movement should check such doubtful elements, who are trying to sabotage the justified ongoing struggle of people of Kashmir,” SSF said in a statement issued from Jammu.
It said SSF supports the justified peaceful movement of people of Kashmir which is the result of betrayal of people of J&K by the Indian establishment for failing to honour its commitments made in 1947. “We feel that Sikh community should also not forget the similar promises made with them by the Govt. of India,” it said.
In a separate appeal, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), Kashmir has urged Muslims and Sikhs of Kashmir to exercise restraint and patience. “Our earnest appeal to all Muslims and Sikhs of J&K is to exercise patience and restraint in the interests of harmonious relations. We should be alert and alive to watch such people and defeat their nefarious designs”, General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal said.

Meanwhile, President Sikh United Front and former president State Gurudwara Parbandak Board Sudershan Singh Wazir Saturday said such acts are the handiwork of agencies to vitiate the communal harmony in Kashmir.
Addressing media persons in Jammu, Wazir said that the agencies, with vested interest, are hell bent upon to give bad name to the centuries old Kashmiryat. “I warn all such elements to desist from this evil design and do not taint the centuries old Kashmiri tradition of harmony and brotherhood,” he said.
Wazir said that Islam preaches protection of other religions and minorities and added that the Sikh minority was safe in the Muslim majority Kashmir.
He said that Sikhs of Kashmir will resist the ill-designs of all communal forces. “Some communal forces outside Kashmir are trying to fish in the troubled waters by issuing such statements which are a threat to the secular-character of our constitution. I warn them of strong resistance from progressive forces. I also warn all political parties of India not to issue such statements which may result into a bad taste among various communities,” he said.
The Sikh leader also called upon the intelligentia and the progressive forces in Kashmir to come forward and expose all such elements, which were bent upon tarnishing the image of Islam and Kashmiriyat, by issuing threats to minority community.
